04 / Questions

Before you send files

Files & drafting

What file formats do you accept?

DXF, DWG, AI and Vectorworks exports. Sketches and dimensioned drawings work too — send what you have and we'll draft from it.

How should I prepare my files?

[ TODO: layers, units, closed polylines, kerf allowance, how to mark part numbers ]

What if my drawing needs cleanup?

We'll draft or repair what you send. The first hour of file time is included in the sheet rate; beyond that it's billed at $60/hr and shows up on your quote before anything is cut.

What tolerance should I expect?

The machine repeats to ±0.002″. [ TODO: the tolerance you actually promise on finished parts, which is not the same number ]

Materials & machine

What materials do you cut?

Plywood (CDX, AC and Baltic birch), MDF, lauan, EPS and XPS foam, acrylic and other plastics, and aluminum. Non-ferrous metals only — no steel.

How big a part can you cut?

Up to a 97″ × 56″ sheet, with 8″ of gantry clearance for thickness. Parts larger than that get split and keyed so they assemble on your end.

Can I supply my own material?

Yes, and it's welcome. Customer-supplied stock adjusts the sheet rate at quote. We cut it as it arrives, so check it for warp and thickness before sending it over.

Pricing & payment

What does a sheet cost?

$435 per 4×8 sheet. That includes 3/4″ ACX plywood and the first hour of file time. Additional file time is $60/hr. Other materials and customer-supplied stock adjust the rate at quote.

Is the estimator a quote?

No. It's a planning figure. Every job gets a firm quote from your actual files before we cut anything — part count, toolpath length and tooling all move the number.

Is there a minimum order?

No. A single sheet of profiles gets the same turnaround attention as a full show package.

How and when do I pay?

[ TODO: deposit, payment methods, net terms, whether a deposit is required before cutting ]

Do you charge a rush fee?

[ TODO: rush policy and surcharge, or say plainly that there isn't one ]

Scheduling & logistics

How fast will I get a quote?

Usually within one business day of receiving your files, materials and quantities.

What's the lead time once I approve?

[ TODO: typical turnaround, e.g. "3–5 business days for a standard package" ]

How far ahead should I book?

[ TODO: how much notice you want, and whether load-in dates should be shared up front ]

Can you deliver?

Pick up in Brea, or we deliver to shops and venues across Orange County and Los Angeles County. [ TODO: delivery cost — flat, by mileage, or quoted per job ]
